EduGradient opened in 2023 with a single weekend workshop held on a hostel rooftop. Ten medical students practised suturing on foam pads and left convinced that learning medicine could feel different. Word travelled quickly through university dormitories. Over the next twelve months a series of weekend sessions trained 1,800 students in the basics of surgical technique, airway management and wound care.

To meet growing demand the team assembled a dedicated skills lab and built a mobile hands-on training system that could be set up in any classroom within an hour. The momentum led to SurgX—a cycle of bootcamps, surgical olympiads and an annual two-day international conference now hosted at Georgian National University SEU. EduGradient also entered a long-term agreement with Rustavi Central Hospital to launch Georgia’s first clinical observership programme for international students; more than 50 trainees have already completed rotations under department mentors.
Competency-Based Medical Education courses now run inside Caucasus International University’s clinical skills centre, while FMGE review classes and the country’s only offline USMLE training programme meet daily at EduGradient’s workspace on Terenti Graneli Street.
Since that first rooftop session EduGradient has delivered over forty separate training programmes and taught 12,000 learners—10,000 of them face-to-face in Tbilisi. Every workshop, conference and hospital rotation is still driven by the same idea that launched it all: no student should advance without the confidence that comes from deliberate, repeated practice.
